Blitz !!!!!

Hi Folks,

Anyone found any good articles on playing Blitz. Seems that for the amount of users playing, there is not a lot of material. But I could be looking in the wrong places.

To be honest, I am not even sure if discussion is relavent beyond the 'normal' tactics and stratagies of chess; except its played a bit faster of course.

There is no blitz or OTB. There are only time controls. Faster games = more mistakes. And that's it.

Only advice I can give is that in blitz, (5-10 min games) you can have some very nice games with gambits.

Personally I find the 10 minute games the most stimulating and interesting, mistakes seem to make chess more human to me.

I think game in 10 is fast and fun, but  can often produce very good games because there is enough time for some thinking and calculation. I agree with Streptomicin that gambits work well with blitz; I would say aggressive play in general works well too.
