Is blitz non-chess?

Blitz makes me hate chess. Blitz is the opposite of thinking and reflecting. So it's the opposite of chess.

My opinion is that without playing any blitz games at all learning this game would take even longer. Since I started playing a few blitz games now & again I feel much more confident in the opening. I seem to learn opening game stuff more easy while playing blitz...

slow & fast games = best of both worlds

Blitz is actually a good thing, like before a tournament, it helps if you play one or two blitz games to wake up your brain, rather than playing some really slow chess, which would basically not boost your brain to the max extent on moving around and thinking quick before the game. Don't get me wrong, I don't mean that blitz will make you play super fast, but it will just wake you up, that's all I'm saying.

Yeah, you need a wake up call if you play blitz. If you fall asleep while playing blitz you will lose on time for sure. Of the games I lose on blitz, more than 50% of them is on time even though I have a better position in most of them. I think I need to wake up before I play blitz. LOL

Blitzkrieg is only harmful if you're facing a German player.

There are too many chess cheaters online, thus it makes no sense to play slow chess on chess websites.  Even when you play blitz they still cheat, they have fast bots now...

If you lose often it's probably that you're just terrible at chess.

Maybe I am terrible at chess, but I know I do not inflate my ego by hiding behind moves which are not mine...

But you might inflate your ego by telling yourself that your losses are someone else's fault...

But I agree with you that I don't trust slow chess online. Even titled players have cheated.

True, all are using stockfish. The faster their computers, the better their rating.!!
