Board is very small, make it big.

Ok, we are here to play chess. The chess board itself is too small. One has to literally strain to catch the piece on the board. Make the board bigger in live games. This is a big issue in blitz and bullet. Puzzle board is fine.

People who agree with me post here so that chess.com can take notice.

Ziggy_Zugzwang

I wouldn't mind a bigger board either...

guys, please stop trolling. Why do you have to turn every thread into useless trolling. I am reporting an issue that makes this website almost unusable for me. I have stopped playing here for sometime now due to this issue. The app is already useless. Atleast the website should be better. So, stop trolling here.

Why isn’t this in the site feedback section?

how? The resize button on the board itself is pretty useless. The biggest size possible in that resizing itself is small. That IS my complaint!

Bad_Dobby_Fischer

are you on the app?

Ashvapathi

I am on the website, not app.

santiagomagno15

you can change the size of the board if you want, click settings on live chess and change the size

then do you have a 2" by 2" screen? if not, i don't see the problem

Ashvapathi

There is a button on the live chess board which says drag to resize. But, its almost useless because the largest possible size itself is small. There is another button called focus mode. It has slightly better and bigger board. But, it doesnt show the opponent's rating. I just want a big board and see my opponent's rating. But, the live chess has so many other side issues that the board itself has been shrunk and there is no way to increase it as much as we want. Even the zoom doesn't work because everything else zooms except the board.

Bad_Dobby_Fischer

how is the largest size small?

When I am on live chess tab, 1/3rd of my screen is filled with a tab which has buttons like play...etc. 1/3rd seems to be filled with ads. The board is 1/3rd of my screen space. or maybe smaller. I don't see why it has to be that small when that board is the main reason to be here in the first place.

We just need to replace the first word in the title, with something else and this would be a perfect troll thread.

Because it is. And thats the complaint, if you didn't understand.

CHESS.COM HAD A MINOR TECHNICAL PROBLEM that it appears to be IN DENIAL OF.  There was some sort of upgrade to the program that changed EVERYTHING to the worst.  First, the Screen shrank to 2"x2". Second, the Right Hand side of the board (which should be 2"x2" is now 80% of the viewing area. Third, I used to have the game on one screen...now you have to scroll down THREE screens to hit the play button. Fourth, the first place I went was to SETTINGS and it says something about grabbing the edge of the board and resizing it---that doesn't work. Also, I don't see any command about resizing the board---only changing the pieces. The game as it stands right now is UNPLAYABLE and you have customers that will be abandoning the game to save their eyesight---that means your AD REVENUE numbers will drop until you CHESS.COM fix the problem for EVERYONE!!!

Ashvapathi raises a good point. Though the board is big enough on the website (5.25" x 5.25") for me to comfortably view it, I'd like to make it as big as it appears on the laptop on the Chess.com landing page.

I'm unable to make chessboard larger. I am missing moves because I have to strain my eyes to see. I wish I hadn't joined.
