books covering old masters ?

I am interested in studying games of old masters from the romantic era like Anderssen, Morphy, etc.. I am wondering if there has been a book written specifically on this topic? That is, the best "immortal games" of all time or such ? I have chessbase so I can pull any game of course but a book would be nice.

You might try looking up author Fred Reinfeld. He would collect games on specific Chess masters and put them in a book with commentary.

I know he did a book on Keres and one on Lasker and probably did others.

I have no idea if they are still in print. It is a place to start, though.

Did you check online? There are dozens of sites making many chess book recommendations.

yes I did check online. Have not found anything obvious. I did find books on Morphy for example but not a book discussing the romantic chess of the 19th masters in general with selected games. Maybe I will.

masters of the chessboard by Richard Reti. I found a used copy for $5.00 on thriftbooks.
