Boring bullet games

Today I played someone in bullet who only pushed pawns for the first 8-10 moves and I immediately recognised this really boring time play. Why would one play a bullet match and not play normal, fun chess. In my opinion someone playing on time only isn't really a good player (I can't really judge it, I'm still fairly new and really bad). I just don't understand why would someone do that. Isn't it the thrill in bullet matches to test your game-knowledge and outplay your opponent with proper openings, tactics and positional play? And admittedly I have won matches on time as well, yes, however I try to play as good as I can and I barely won by a few seconds. I find it really lame to just push some pawns around and hope your opponent can't react properly/is too slow. Just because one wants good stats and wants to have higher ranking, doesn't mean to be an annoying player. What's your opinion about it? Let me know!

Its bullet...your bullet rating is 742.  At that level, there is no strategy, tactics, calculating, planning.  Its who can blunder the most material, and then brag they won while 9 pieces down and with .1 second on the clock.

If you can't punish someone who pushes pawns 10 moves in a row then it apparently isn't a bad strategy!  Players who just play fast in bullet lose quickly against people who know what they are doing.
