hey there y'all. I was told I need a hobby that involve manual labor and won't turn into a job. I came across this man that was into this game and I have been on for about a day and have a good grasp on what the chess pieces do, but would like some suggestions on where to go to learn. And is it better at this point to play real people or the computer?

Chess.com offers so many resources. Look around the site. I highly recommend that you learn to not hang pieces ( Meaning don't just place a piece out somewhere without being supported by another. ). Take your time, so play long games 30 mins , it sounds long but it isn't, you'll need that time bc if you rush you'll make mistakes that 5 more seconds of thought could have prevented. Feel free to message me any time. I'll play with you and talk you through games. On that note play 3 day per move correspondence chess here, take every second you need to make a move, use the analysis board 24/7... overall have fun, computer or human . Welcome to the game
