Browser freezing

Hello, I am pretty new to this site and I have some questions ; when I go to www.chess.com domain my Internet explorer just freezes and I can not login nor click any link. Also, when I play blitz games, sometimes my connection with the server breaks causing forfetion of the game and loss of rating points. Is that an temporarily site issue or my PC issue ?

Thanks !

P. S. I downloaded firefox to give it a try and it looks smoother so far :)

Yes, I have the same problem, which indeed seems to be caused by google-analytics

How do you shutdown google analytics?

Maybe you can block www.google-analytics.com at your browser's settings?

Erik, i am using Firefox  and am experiencing my broswer freezing each time i click on  a link.  it starts to load, then the page goes white.  i wait and nothing happens, yet if i hit refresh, it loads the page alomost instantly.  This just began for the first time about 10 mins ago, and now seems to always happen.

I have been having the problem of Freezing and/or getting un-logged as well. Both can happen on any of my Browsers, but most often AOLBrowser is the Freeze-up champ. While Opera & Firefox vie for #1 in the UnLogging catagory, & IE-7 being 3rd there, but not by much. Those 3 also Freeze on me quite often in the LIVE CHESS board area, and now I notice it does not happen much with about 60 players there, but quite regularly when there are 120-140 there. [Perhaps that is on the 'lazy' server Erik mentions? AOL-EXP may freeze the most, but rarely ever gets knocked off for some reason. Wish I understood it better.]

Hearing some of you have best results with Firefox, I will see if there is a later version for me to download ?  I have the #2 upgraded version, but did not get all the vaunted specials options installed; nor any later version, if there is one. Hoping it helps. I notice @ other sites, where I do not have these two problems, generally the Fastest Browser for transmission time is AOLExplorer Browser, #2) Firefox, &  #3) IE-7 ... I have not tried Opera elsewhere; a recent acquisition.

***

I had thought FIREFOX faster than IE-7 due, perhaps, to being a much smaller program in overall size. But along came the AOL which is intermediate in size to the others, yet the fastest blitzer I have most places, on my Pentium 4-D.

I must remember to try that CONTROL-R also~! Thanks for the Info, ERIK ~! Cool

Will perhaps try the site on the AMD, as well. See if any difference. I'm told the chips perform differently, with each having certain stronger, faster areas of function. Has anyone compared? Thx.
