bullet vs blitz and playing long games

You are talking to me?

Well, I was writing my opinion and you can have a different opinion. I'm not going to argue.

When I was around your level I didn't know about chess clocks - and a friendly game with people of similar levels typically lasted at least 45 minutes or an hour. Sometimes longer.

Then I did learn about chess clocks - but still didn't feel too fondly about fast time controls - until I improved my play and raised my rating past 1500 IRL.

On here u played 45 minute games? I just figured ten minutes was long enough but not to long and it would still give me the time to move with a little rush in decision making if u know what I mean. And by all means I know I'm not great. I just wanted to make it challenging enough but with a little time for the decision-making is well not to contradict myself

I mean yes I was talking to you before but I'm open to opinions on what a good time limit is. And I still don't get that 2/1 or 2/3 or 3/1 etc.

Dear <BlurredLife>

I refer you again to my comment #3 on the previous page - in it you will find everything about what I think is a good and meaningful time limit for any player of your level, +/- several hundred points.

My comment #11 explains what "blitz" and "bullet" mean on chess.com

Of course, you're a free person and you can play any time control you want.

Cheers!

lol. Weren't you the guy who said you like to avoid fights on the first page? In my opinion you are asking for it.
