i was just thinkin of this the other day haha
Bullet?

A lot of people like me with whom do not possess chess skills yet, 30 seconds would be ideal. Many people I know, including myself, finish games in under 10 seconds all the time.
30 seconds seems confoundingly long to me. I'd like to see a zero second game where you do nothing but make premoves, and as soon as a premove proves to be illegal, you time out and lose.
Then we can all gather for post mortems where we argue whether the guy who does nothing but move his knight back and forth yet is rated 3200 is playing real chess or not.

well said!
I'm a one-minute bullet addict but don't get me wrong, I don't do that! lol
But seriously, a fair amount of bullet games get to 60+ moves and are full of tactics. in my opinion, bullet games are a rich area to test your tactical acumen.
premoves are only useful in a winning position (mostly winning endings against a lone king/K+few pawns) where you have to set an 'automatic' series of moves to checkmate without falling into an illegal move in between or stalemate. well, at least I use them in that particular stage of the game.
as you implied, premoves in the opening can many times backfire: like dropping a pawn/piece very early.

Mehdipiera, Love your comments. True bullet is played to win. I have played well over 2000 bullet games and can only remember 1 time someone going back and forth. The heart pounds, the adrenalin kicks in. Who would have thought this to be pssible in chess?
Appreciate your thought out answer. Not just mocking for the sake of self pitty.
I have had some people express a keen desire to play a 30 second Bullet. Possibly call it "Missile", just an example. If ayone thinks this is a good idea. Please express so.
Thankyou kindly.
