And you know this how? I didn't see anywhere in that thread that he claimed he was joking but I did see him reassert his position. And IF he was joking then it only supports what I said in the first...he's an arse.

Because I'm intelligent and can tell when someone says something so unreleastic to be obviously kidding. And I've never seen him make a serious post yet.

Snakes seems to have everyone "rattled"   Yes......he's joking.

Well, if that is the case then as I said...he's still an arse.

Please - can we get back on topic?

The best players in the world do not consider chess just as a game, and when they lose they take it very seriously.

If Bobby Fischer just saw chess as a game, he would have been an average player at the club level.

Feel more bummed out. Those moments help your improve.

Yessir, I have a new attitude due to most of this thread.

"That which does not kill you, makes you stronger."

I think Bobby liked that saying and others by Friedrich.

  • I just played against one tough Pakistan player and perservered, without a single blunder.  Close to running out of time at the end, but the slower moves and more thinking paid off.  My key risky move started at move 21.  http://www.chess.com/livechess/analysis.html?id=309169938

I'm sure the more you feel bummed out, the more you will want to improve.

Just keep trying and you will make it.

my goal is always to continue learning and improving; my rating improves slowly and steadily. learning makes the game more and more fun and interesting. I will never be a IM or GM or any kind of M, but I love chess and as long as I can play and keep improving, that's good enough for me. I don't like losing either, but I learn alot when I lose.

Also, chess does amazing things for one's brain - new neural connections by the millions - it's very healthy. Which is enough of a benefit to keep me playing

It's also the fastest and easiest way to test your mental ability.

I'm sure that GM's are better at calculation overall, and not just in chess, but also in daily life.

True; one thing I like about chess is that I will always have room to improve

damongross

As long as you don't kick your loved ones or break the furniture when you lose, you are doing fine!

How is that funny?

DavyWilliams, I looked over your game. I have to ask, why 10. Qc4, sacking the knight, instead of 10. Nd4?

You don't see why it's funny?  That's a truly scary indictment of your faculties.

Please don't admit to things like that, in public.  For your own sake.

Seriously?  Allow me to explain:

Chess is a board game.

Nd4 wasn't possible was it?  Already occupied. You meant somewhere esle?  Anyways, I thought I could get his rook or bring more power down and mate him, at least stop him from castling.

It's a fact. Why don't you check out his interviews.

Why don't you study chess more, and post less.  We would all be better off.

I could defeat you without even trying.
