A chimp beat Josh Waitzkin once. That's why he quit chess.
can monkey's play chess?
I think they were mainly sent into space due to the number of failed space missions at that time.
I think chimps are very intelligent and could remember a limited repertoire based on incentives given for right moves and remembered theory.
They were sent into space so that scientists could study the effects on them of weightlessness and other influences. They were chosen for this because of their physiological similarity to humans. To suggest that there were other "intelligent" contributions they might make is ridiculous. Imagine trying to instruct a chimp to fire a rocket for a prescribed number of seconds. The OP's question is, of course, absurd.

OK, anyone out there who owns a chimp or monkey, time to get busy and prove RG1951 wrong. He's clearly an anti-chimpite. (Apologies to Seinfeld.)

Primates can play chess as long as they are bribed with french fries and diet Sprite. Soda with caffiene will throw their game off. They'll drop pawns, toss knights, and bugger bishops! A man in a monkey suit makes a convincing Garri Kasparov and has been spotted in the Pacific Northwest once in awhile by drunken loggers. The Yeti however cannot play chess and is a Xiangqi addict, unfortunately, Yeti is horrible at it since losing his eye in a wind surfing accident.
Chimpanzees might be able to learn, but I don't know if they can understand how theory works. Then again, chimps are very intelligent. Monkeys might be a dofferent matter.

I am soverign king of the monkeys,
My silly subjects reside in trees.
We drop coconuts,
And show you our butts,
And bring man and woman to their knees.

Hi Eric, can you make an Anagram of that one?
Per your request "Splash soy, my neck acne". A rather nasty image, but an anagram nonethess and one that cleverly uses the original apostrophe as a comma. Not bad if I say so myself.

You are great at this Eric, I checked an Anagram Solver before I ever posted and it had no clue as to an answer.
