Can we get a little love for the broke but dedicated?

Hello Chess.com team, I joined on March 17 and have already reached “Legend” in my weekly group which was a proud moment for me. But after that, there is not much more to work toward and things start to feel a little repetitive. I am from Ethiopia and have been using the free version of Chess.com. I really enjoy the platform and appreciate everything that is available for free...especially the puzzles and game analysis. But three puzzles a day? I usually finish those before breakfast! I am around 1800 in rapid...That is nothing for most of u and i know but here in my village, that is basically Magnus Carlsen level. People already ask me for tips like I am a grandmaster. 😄 The challenge is, even if I wanted to upgrade to Premium, I cannot. Payment methods are very limited where I live and honestly, I also cannot afford it right now. Life feels a bit like playing chess without a queen... difficult but still worth trying 🤓 I read somewhere that in the past, reaching “Legend” might have unlocked some Premium access. If there is any way to bring something like that back or maybe create a system to reward active and dedicated users. It would really help people like me who are trying to improve but have limited resources. Thanks...

Congratulations on your Legend status!

What you heard about chess.com leagues is true. There are currently no plans of hosting tournaments in the Legends club for prizes. I personally went several years with the default membership before getting premium, so I can relate to the progress and accomplishments.

Lichess has a completely free and improved puzzle system, you should check it out

I do lots of free puzzles on lichess and chessking app...then i do the 3 daily puzzles on this site as a 'final exam' since you know you don't want to lose points if you slip up

If you're serious about improving, you don't really need anything more than what's freely available ... The analysis board (https://www.chess.com/analysis) is an especially helpful free tool. I spend more time hanging out there than I do playing ...

The bots are great sparring partners, too. (https://www.chess.com/play/computer)

And the Opening Practice section (Learn -> Practice -> Openings https://www.chess.com/practice/openings) is a very helpful way to drill your openings against custom engine levels ...

You don't need a paid membership for any of these.
