Can we please put in the takeback option.

Talk all you want about punishing bad moves and enforcing stricter play, sure. You can have that. But misclicks and mouseslips are a valid reason for the takeback option in chess.com. Other sites have it, why not here?

I see the lack of takeback allows for wasted games and ratings to dip unnecessarily.

Just trying to play the best chess possible.

Play slower games so you won't have misclicks

It will be like those other sites, people blunder and keep asking takeback after every move. It's better not to have it

Caesar49bc

Mouse slips suck, but I make far less since I've switched to servers that don't allow takebakes.

Takebacks is the worse thing a chess server can allow.

Lord_Hammer

So, if you make a bad move, will you take it back?

...thought so.

Pulpofeira

It's against the frigging spirit of the game.

autobunny

Take that back!  Right now!

That happens, but 99% that the game you won because you opponent made some kind of mistakes. So why need it.

Also, being able to give your opponent more time. I have had players tell me that they would have given more time (when I have lost on time) if they could, but they can't. I myself would have used the feature more than once as well. I believe that in some other online chess servers this is a feature.

And free pieces. My last sandwich. The shirt off my back - good thing bunnies don't wear clothes though the bunny's been experimenting recently ...

I forgot who said this:

"The winner of a game of chess is the next-to-last person to make a mistake."

Pulpofeira

I think it was Tartakower.

Our beloved Larsen, I believe. We miss him dearly; that man had jokes.

What's the purpose if having a clock if the players can ignore it?

I think your right on some servers allowing that. Not sure which one. If I recall one can give an opponent 5 extra minutes if done before the flag falls. Don't think it's available for rated games though.

Exactly what problem are you seeing here? If someone wants to give his opponent more time, why do you oppose this idea? What problem do you see there?
