Oh, so first it was that I'm ignorant and now it's ego. Are you totally sure the ego isn't from your side, though? I mean, we do all have egos and you do seem to be deliberately picking a quarrel.

I don't think Sidis was in another league, or anything like that. Just different. I think that you should try to seek insights which could be quite revealing rather than to picture yoursef as a potential thundercloud and all others are having a parade. Again, it's statistically unlikely, because most people who start arguments like this one aren't that bright themselves. I'm not accusing you of that, of course.

I first said you were ignorant and then egotistical because I believe you are both. I'm picking a quarrel because I believe you are wrong.

Of course, you don't think that Sidis is in another league, because that would damage the picture you have of being the arbiter of all things pertaining to intelligence. I'm at least humble enough to admit that Sidis was out of my league intelligence-wise, but if you said that, all your credibility would be lost. As for the metaphor you made about me being a thundercloud over everybody's parade, I just am fairly knowledgable in the subject of intelligence and I think you are wrong, but remember that it takes 2 to debate, so it isn't me alone perpetuating this. As for your last thing about me being statistically unintelligent... it was just stupid. People, who start these arguments aren't bright? really? I thought you could be a little more creative than that

Look, I think you have maybe an anger problem. Let's leave it, ok?

That's quite comical, but I can assure you I have no anger problem. Haha, I was trying to get insights like you suggested, but if you want to postpone the argument that's fine lol

I just read a synopsis of him. There's no evidence that he had an IQ of over 200. It's also rather a coincidence that the World's Smartest Man is American. And who estimated his IQ?

He doesn't seem very smart, the way he lived his life. And he probably didn't play chess.

This was my post which started you off. Before making that comment, I spent some time reading up on him. You've registered your objection. Sometimes, we inother, more humble parts of the World get slightly fed up with a mentality where the best that ever existed is always HERE, NOW!! I probably shouldn't have commented but even so, the reaction was an honest one.

I certainly respect this post. I was genuinely curious about your argument, and am looking up some of the things you said about the inventor of the lightbulb and aeroplane and finding interesting things

I deleted that and incorporated it in a more explanatory thing. I'd rather not argue with you any more, if that's alright.

That's fine with me, but in the future I would recommend not claiming that your opposition has an anger problem haha

But we can talk, if you wish.

If you can clear this up for me, I would like to know what people outside the U.S. think of the country. Obviously I can't get an unbaised perspective within the u.s, so I'm quite curious. I won't argue with what you say

Are you kidding me?

Haha, I guess that was one last trick to see if you were biased, but I truly do digress. I will stop this argument since you didn't bite

I have answered now. As accurately as I could in five minutes.

I agree with everything you mentioned. It seems that the perpetuation of anger and mob mentality is a big issue as you stated

And I apologise if my initial comment gave the impression of anti-Americanism. When I wrote it, I was feeling a bit irritated, for the reasons I mentioned. It's because if anything sums up the impressions that others get, it's HERE, NOW, US!

grr

It's fine, I knew what you meant by that

Yes, there is anger, mobs, and elements of anarchism in the US and others as well. Today, our 24/7/365 media is prone to ratings, thus the destructive elements are all that is going to be promoted; people crave the fringe elements i suppose. The anarchists crave the “free” attention paid for by advertisers. There are millions of good, caring, and kind people but that doesn’t make the news. The US media doesn’t care about the good, caring, and kind people of Europe, Asia, South America or elsewhere for that matter. If it doesn’t have anything to do with the royal family, it isn’t news. I pulled the plug on the media long ago and haven’t missed it. In fact, life is better without the world’s stress shoved in my face nightly at 5:00 and then repeated at 11:00. I choose to believe in the goodness i see around me rather than the relatively few who choose to burn, destroy, and ruin others lives for attention.
