Cant stop losing. Going to kill myself if my score get below 900 again

I worked my ass off getting to 950. and now i am one loss away from getting back down to 900, where i was stuck for a whole YEAR. I don't understand why i am so bad at this. I analyse my games, do puzzles and do nothing but get outsmarted and lose

Based on your latest game, you are not sufficiently developing your back pieces. By move 10, only your knight went past the first rank (not counting the already captured bishop). After that, on move 12, you went to exchange the knights without realising that your remaining back pieces are all on the first rank. I felt that you also exchanged pieces (eg. 16. Rxc8) without understanding that 16...Qxc8 allows Black to take full control of the c-file.

.

At the time that your bishop is captured, the only non-pawn piece which you moved is that bishop. After which, at the time your knight is captured, the only non-pawn piece which you moved is that knight, and subsequently, the a1 rook, then the d1 queen. The other knight was almost the same, except you finally moved the h1 rook, but by then it's too late.

.

Ask yourself: why move the same piece again until its capture? Why did you not develop other pieces at the same time?

.

Fortunately, the two instances of the saving grace in your game are that you are free of the biggest danger after the queen swap and the free bishop you captured - this is nullified by the loss of the f1 bishop when you finally moved the rook.

In your second latest game, after 10...fxg6 11. Qe1 Ne7 12. Qf2, you continued to push the a-pawn for no real purpose (though other moves are not much better). In that game, almost all your pieces are in the back rank - just like the latest game.

.

You should not move pieces solely for the purpose of moving it without other intention. By move 15, quite a significant number of pieces should be developed already. Do not expect quick wins in a game; you should be mentally prepared for ones with more moves where your pieces are sufficiently developed to launch an attack on the opposing pieces whilst keeping your defence solid.

.

I would also like to add that many of your moves are just one-piece threats (I move a rook to attack a bishop; if he does not move the bishop, I can capture it), and this is not an optimal strategy to win the game. This phenomenon is heavily seen in your third latest game.

.

Look at the latest loss of @TheNameOfNames - even though he/she did lose the game, a struggle in the game ensues between both players, each vying to win other pieces through a series of tactics and understanding of squares on the board. And that is already a fight within a loss. Now look at the latest win of @TheNameOfNames - in a daily game. Look at how both sides develop their pieces. These are what you need to look out for in games - development of pieces with a strategy to invade files, weak diagonals, outposts and so on.

Obsessing over rating is not constructive for improvement. Consistent play and study will make results, especially at your level.

look at my stats - my rating was over 1900 and then it dropped to under 1800. Ratings go up and down, it’s an average of your performance.

"Cant stop losing" ++ Stop blundering.

"Going to kill myself" ++ Chess should be fun, not a source of irritation.

"why i am so bad at this" ++ Because you blunder.

"I analyse my games" ++ Good, analyse your losses and learn from your mistakes.

"do puzzles"
++ Good, but overrated. In a real game nobody tells you there is a tactic, or for which side.

"get outsmarted and lose" ++ Blunder and lose. Always check your intended move is no blunder before you play it. This little mental discipline alone is enough to reach 1500.

It's understandable to feel frustrated, but it's important to approach chess improvement with a positive mindset. Plateaus and setbacks are a natural part of the learning process in chess.

How do you analyse your games?

The lazy way (asking the computer) isn't a terribly good way.

The heading of this forum-thread looks like weird. Also, this kind of heading is against the policies of chess.com. Better edit it. If not, there is a chance that you will find this thread as non-existing.

Similar here. I was over 1200 for a month or so, and now I am below 1100. My opponents seem to do unusually well, they give me a good fight. Not a problem though, I cannot say that lost my skills. Do not worry, it happens to everyone.

If that’s how you really feel, you should not be playing this game. I used to get a lot more upset until I learned that the scores are not entirely accurate. Everyone has a true score, but we’re just not sure exactly what it is. Let’s say your true score is 950. But you play someone whose true score is 1000, you will lose very likely. And when you lose your score goes down, right? Now, if you play someone who’s true score is 850, you will very likely win, and then your score will go up. Let’s say you play the first person, whose true score is 1000, many times. Your score will go down to 800 maybe even 700, even though your true score is 950, makes sense? One thing you should do is look at the history of your opponents. This will show you how high they have reached in the past and will help you relax a little, that’s what helped me.

Funny how people are still replying to a *one year old* thread when the OP ran away when someone told him why his moves are bad. He didn't even reply back.
