lately, following the norway chess tournament, i am noticing that carlsen somehow manages to put a lot of pawns in the center. i don't know how and why his opponents allow him to do this but he invariably succeeds in doing this and thus becomes the attacking side. even in his match against svidler today he's managed to do the same thing. in his match against nakamura i was sad to see a draw after what seemed like a really interesting game. carlsen sacrificed a pawn to get a mobile center.
