It must be a nightmare getting an even endgame against Magnus.

Difficult to pick black's next move (81), and he doesn't have much time.

Carlsen is playing the white pieces.

Can someone explain move 50 where Carlsen sacrificed his rook?

Well, he's either losing the exchange or his bishop.

Doesn't sac the piece, the check is just an intermezzo.

If he moves the Rook, he loses the Bishop on d5.

I think Magnus is smashing Karjakin

82.Rg2+ Kh8 83.Rg4 Re2+ 84.Kd4 Rh2 is the computer line

Why on move 50 couldn't Carlsen play Rcxc5 and win a pawn? Is the position after 50. Rcxc5 Bxc5 51. Nxd4 Rxd4 a clear draw or something.

So moves 46-50 are blunders of both sides?

Scottrf

Houdini line aka Carlsen line.

Pascalz

This is intense. oppposite bishops! isn't that a draw even with the extra pawn?

rooperi

Opposite bishops cant hold those pawns?
