Brixed, you are right! That match could be the most interesting one! Btw, according to the Top Bookmaker Reviews, many people are ready to make a bet for Carlsen! That's really means something! I hope they will manage to organize it in a short time.

Given that both players a close in rating strength and at or near their playing peaks, the most probable result of the 12 game classical games is 6-6.  Ay, there's the rub for Caruana, since Carlsen would have a huge advantage in the rapid/blitz tie-breaks.

Still, anything can happen in a short match.  Before 2000, World Ch Matches used to be best of 24 games (at a minimum), but the Kasparov-Kramnik match in 2000 was just 14 games.  Kramnik and his team came up with one Great idea... they rehabilitated the Berlin Defense and neutralized Kasparov's Ruy Lopez.  Kasparov lost one game, early, playing the Black side of the Grunefeld, and the match was essentially over.  Late in the match, he lost a game playing the White side of the Catalan, but his loss was due, in part, to has having to press to even up the score.

So, anything can happen with two closely matched players.   But, still, Carlsen has, essentially, draw odds in a short match.  Huge.
