Catalan Opening

I play catalan in over the board games and I love it. the nicest thing about the catalan is that you can play it against any opening black chooces. for example:
The only thing you can't play the catalan against is the benoni/benko but you need to learn just a little and you will have a great game and you will learn new pawn structures and positional and tactical ideas (Yes there is sharp games in the catalan from timeto time). If you want I will post here nice game that I played in the catalan
I am an aggressive tactical player who plays pirc and benoni in black and e4 KiA in white. One coach advises that if i want to improve i should play more positional openings and he advised me to play d4 with Catalan especially that you fianchetto same as KIA but instead of closing the white bishop diagonal with d3/e4 with KIA, in Catalan your bishop is much more free with c4/d4. However, i am afraid if want to start playing d4 i will have to study all the replies against it. Like benoni, kings indian, slav, benko...
What do you advise?
