That would be yet another way to make something out of a losing position. Flagging would become more common because you wouldn't even need to beat your opponent on the clock to flag them into a stalemate. In fact, why wouldn't a player in a losing position just refuse to move and claim their stalemate?

1 minute bullet chess should only allow a win by checkmate. Everything else should be considered a stalemate.
Why? Because it forces people away from the idea of a win solely by stealing pieces or running out the clock.
This affords players to ignore a sacrificial piece to set up their own counter attack. Two queens might sit right next to one another. Taking that open horse or rook will set you back two moves you can’t get back. And those are viral seconds to kill the game for you.
Just as well, a plague of longer games, the repetitive openings and replicated games that have one variable of difference thirty moves in becomes an implausible outcome. That generic queen to h5, the utmost hateable opening in all of chess. Can be quickly dispatched for a unique game!
In fact, because of 1 minute chess. Ive started playing h5 openers again. While at 10 minutes i just leave.
There are more games of chess to be played than atoms in our galaxy, and you want to play h5 again?! Get out!
If we could get a petition going or ask chess.com for a variation for mate only win 1 minute bullet chess, it would make the game so much better
That one sacrifice to steal an repetitive thinker’s 1000 fold experience is gone in an instant. Forcing them to think outside their limited box. On their toes. And thats what chess was when we all first started playing! Unpredictable. Confusing. Cognitively stimulating. Wonderful. .
