cheater_1 vs. chess.com

Sheesh.  Do you Earthlings mean Eric has lost some of his aura?

Fair enough:   1 lost aurora for 1 broken fan. 

But it seems pretty questionable to expect someone to know the meaning of the word aura who apparently doesn't understand the definition of his own sobriquet.   He should try cheating and looking in a dictionary.

Hmm aurora, dark side. All sounds very interesting but this still is about a chessgame right? I mean, I really like star wars but what is this all about, that 95% of us would leave our ethics and start cheating?

I want to bet, after the game, whomever won, cheater will proudly say he won because he converted us all to cheaters. 

And I don't think this is such a big deal personally. I don't use programs because I never do. Just to play against the computer. But I wouldn't really care going over to the dark side. WHoooh EVIL:| \m/  \m/

My remarks about Erik’s aurora has absolutely nothing to do with some cleric theme, it was more geared into the direction of admiration  - like when you show your appreciation to a Tenor hitting his notes in a sublime way – for lack of a better paradigm. Although in this blog in particular, there is an abundance on INTELIGENTZIA and I’m sure they will find the most accurate and precise term.  In any case, Aurora or Aura – my point has been missed. My dialectics are obviously not ready for such a parade of friendly linguistics. Oh and Batgirl putting her grain of salt. I will just attach the most practical “no comment”

 I like – very much- Chess.com and I take pleasure in most of its content. My game is improving and I’m learning –slowly – but I’m learning. With Eric I had some laughs a few months ago with regards to some ethics issues and how to navigate those subtle themes in the internet age. The subject is to complex and I understood Erik’s responsibilities and point of view.

Um..."Latitude" are you still pretending to be a different person than cheater_1 or can we just assume what we all know from now on.  By the way, since I feel honored to be lumped in the "inteligentzia" by which I am pretty sure you mean inteligenzia, I just thought I'd be a butthead and point out that you put in two cents and take a thing with a grain of salt, egostic is an ethical stance whereas egotistic is a characteristic or property of a person most like snobbery and, by defintion, you have to be the most egoistic and probably the most egotistic (and there is nothing wrong with that!) and I have no idea what what friendly linguistics are...

That said, I am still laughing with joy at this forum, so keep it coming cheater, um, I mean Latitude!  By the way, do you cheat on your taxes too or just at chess? 

I've been reflecting on the notion that Latitude is one of cheater_1's alt accounts... and it makes a startling amount of sense to me, extrapolating what I can about his psychology.

I think it's a very intriguing notion - to create a "villain" account and also a "hero" one. Note the clue in the similarity of the profile pictures... both masked men. One claims to be willing to kill his grandmother with a two-by-four, the other seems to be unwaveringly obsessed with justice and morality.

I think that is one of the first clues. The polarities of the two accounts are interestingly extreme. I reflected that the user of these accounts, for the most part in the past, would've been veeery careful to not out himself, nor did he have any reason to. I think in the excitement surrounding this match, he was pushed to use the other character. The use of language is very similar, as is the mild deviation of red letters instead of capital ones.

Think about it: would a guy like cheater_1 try to "good-cop" "bad-cop" us? Of course he would. He'd like to sow as much dissention as possible. Notice how the tactics are changing... cheater_1 is acting almost amicable, he's pleased to have this opportunity, etc, whereas Latitude is taking the burden of trying to point out the "hypocrisy" and "immorality" of the chess.com members involved.

I think it was the line "Erik will recant!" that really solidified it in my mind.

Oh Boy!

 Again Latitude is NOT Cheater_1. I hope with this clarification you can regroup your Sherlock Holmes complex to other avenues.  I know its just fun but I miss the comic genius of other members of Chess.com.

By the way, it doesn’t matter how you turn it, everybody knows what egoistic and snobbish means.

And by reading your commentaries I see the perfect reflections for the meaning of INTELIGENTZIA.
