checking the king constantly

this one player kept checking from different positions in aim to waste my time and stop me from playing, because he had nothing else to do since i had two queens and bishop, and it would be a matter of seconds before I would checkmate. He didn’t have any strategy, just kept attacking without any purpose. Is it considered to be rude and what should I do?
SpacePodz
This is normal. He was probably trying to draw or something.
Don

It's not rude at all.

One time in a game a player started making these threatening advances towards my king. At this point I had my suspicions, but once he started trying to take my pieces, I knew - he was trying to checkmate my king in order to win the game. I couldn’t believe chess.com allows such rude unsportsmanlike behavior. Furthermore I couldn’t help but notice he often made moves during the game, effectively stopping his clock in an attempt to not lose on time, and instead make MY clock go down. Really disappointing that players like these exist in the community.
Tyranikal

As a new player to chess, this makes me wonder what would be considered rude or disrespect to opponents.

SpacePodz
@icyboyyy he was sarcastically mocking lol
SpacePodz
@Tyranikal the only thing I would consider rude would be to wait out your clock to waste your opponents time

Hello

@alpha_negative_one even though your comment is quite funny, it does not respond to my question/situation explained, but thanks for the effort

anyhow, it is my opinion that people should have the dignity when it comes to situation as explained in my previous comment and either resign or offer draw instead of wasting everyone’s time. Thanks people!

Maybe send us the game so i can see if there was perpetual check.

It's a legitimate strategy, if you can't stop him from checking you, then well, you can never checkmate him and it's a draw innit. Doesn't matter how much material you're up.

He has absolutely no reason to resign and it has nothing to do with dignity. He is simply making the best moves by checking your king and preventing you from checkmating him.

Why don't you offer him a draw? It makes more sense in such situation. But first it's good to verify that it's indeed a perpetual check, may be you have some way to stop him from checking you?
