Chess 960 should be called Chess 959

Chess 960 is called 960 because of 960 possible starting positions. The math is 4x4x5x4x3x1. However, there is a flaw in the math. The flaw is that the 960 starting positions include the standard chess position. Thus, the standard chess position must be removed from the 960 starting positions which is 960-1=959.

The point of Fischer Random /Chess 960 is to make opening theory unnecessary. If the standard chess position occurs in Fischer Random, it basically defies the purpose of Fischer Random as then opening theory is necessary.

You're allowed to prepare opening theory for any of the 960 positions.

The starting position is randomized to make standard opening principles unnecessary.
