"One side messes up and the other side becomes the "lucky" one!"
If any game in which your opponent can mess up qualifies as "a game of luck", then there're no competitive games that are not "a game of luck".

when an opponent messes up it is not luck. They messed up because they were not prepared or where distracted. Magical pixies don't move pieces and let the other person win and say you are a victim of luck today, enjoy.
It's relative. One side messes up and the other side becomes the "lucky" one! The luck you give your opponents decreases as your chess knowledge increases.
ok can you give luck to someone? do you reside at the end of a rainbow after rain? If yes, you may give luck, if not, there is no way you can "Give" luck.

Exactly right. There is no chess whatsoever in chess.

I messed up, i mean there is no luck in chess.
The game of chess itself is a game of complete information as has been said before. You know the position of all the pieces, you know all the legal moves they can make, the skill factor is who can use this knowledge to their advantage better.
The only luck factor involved is something like what poo said, what someone ate for breakfast, how much sleep they got, etc...
