Chess, a solution for war?

that's what most books i read say, is it really true?

War is a bussiness ,it earns people billions of dollors, creates jobs ,stimulates economies ,gives them access to resources and give them the ability to manipulate the world ,all under the umbrella of various lies that primeraly boils down to patriotism and 'the right thing'. Somehow I don't think chess will ever take over as a solution for war.

So had Saddam played a game of chess against "W", it's "W" that would have been hung instead!

While I think "W" is the dumbest president the United States has ever had in their 237 year history, Saddam is still the one that deserved to be hung!

Chess ain't the solution to war!

War is not a business, does not earn dollars, and does NOT create jobs (although it reduces competition for existing jobs). Read some economics book for a full explanation. Basically, saying war stimulates the economy is like saying a hooligan who throws a brick through a window is stimulating the economy, because the shop owner spends money to replace the window, generating income for the glassmakers, etc. However, this reasoning is a fallacy. In reality, the money used to replace the window could have been used to improve the owner's business, which would have been better for the economy.

What planet do you come from? Do you know how many industries and workers are involved in the building of a single aircraft carrier, the amount of scientists ,engineers etc. involved in designing and creating new ways to kill or counter already existing ways of killing. Every army needs food ,clothing, doctors etc etc etc War is the biggest bussiness on the planet and once a country has been bombed and beaten ,well then someone has to rebuild right? Who do you think gets those contracts ,controls new resources and world prices on those resources . If the USA spent it's defense budget on ' improving their own business ' as you put it ,they could supply every single person in the country with free housing and sanitation, but they don't do they? Unless you are seven years old your ' brick through the window ' analogy can only be described as laughable.

Don't forget the contracts to rebuild a country bombed to smithereens.
