chess and IQ
The brain is a complex organ. I'm a borderline genius. But never was able to translate that into being a better chess player.
I do excel is some stuff though.
My IQ is only 100
"No matter how hard I try"? You didn't study enough. Your chess knowledge is 1600 maximum so even if you play seriously the results is still 1600 Performance. Read advance books, solve harder puzzles.
This happens to be the only formula to display the correlation, and mind you, it's thoroughly unreliable. I'll wager Dantzig would have severed it to bits and swallowed it a raw a la COGNITIVE REVOLUTION. The formula: 10 x Iq) + 1000. If your theory is correct and we utilised this formula, you would apparently have an IQ of 60, which is not demonstrated in your forum post. To formulate an account on chess.com and pose a question on here is not typically a demonstrative aspect of someone with 60 IQ
My intelligence quotient happens to in the mid 130s, but look at my Elo rating: a paltry, measly rating defined by the numbers 1,4,2 and 0. No, we can definitely rule out any permutation beginning with 4 or 2 (is a 4000 rating human or has quantum supremacy devoured us?).
Anyway, the idea that even peak possible chess rating can be a simple function of IQ is drivel because it discounts so many factors.
disagree. i struggled at 900 CFC for like 7 months when i first started, then i started practicing A LOT and my peak chess.com rapid is over 2000, and my peak blitz is 1900+. My IQ is probably trash even though I haven't tested it.
I am also not sure how someone can have a high IQ and low chess rating. Given, that they practice enough. The game is logical but some players prefer to play on intuition then science.
woahhh...my rating is now 1625... highest in 3 years ...boy !! that so difficult to achieve this ...I have not slept whole night ...it's 9 am now and I must sleep
