Since the loss of Kasparov to Deep Blue it appears that the question has been answered. Chess at it's highest level of play so far is logic not art.

There seems to be something that makes that chess is not solvable in a scientific way. The best players in the world seem to have an artistic instinct that helps them select a better move than the move that follows raw logic. Or are the results of engines proof that it is nothing but raw calculation and logic?
