I'm not a chess expert but I respect and admire the game of chess very much. In my opinion chess is the greatest of all games. I like philosophy and I find that chess can teach you some philosophical points about life...
Chess teaches and reminds me of :
1. Good plan can be ruined by a small mistake :
You have a perfect plan, perfect strategy but suddenly one overlooked tactical mistake ruins your whole plan, your game... your life...
2. Have a flight square / prophylaxis
Prepare a flight square (or prophylaxis) just in chase anything bad happens. Just like in life... do not trust your current comfort zone... Prepare for the worse
3. Don't do anything prematurely
Attacking prematurely in chess without proper development means suicide in most cases. Just like in life... going ahead with your plan without preparation is not a good idea
4. It all depends on the situation
In chess, you cannot say that bishop is better than knight (vice versa). It all depends on the situation... just like many things in life...
5. Sometimes you have to sacrifice
Sometimes you have to let go your Queen to deliver a checkmate. In life you have to let go things that you enjoy sometimes to reach your primary goal.
