Chess at Work

Do any of you who don't play/teach chess professionally have people at work that you play chess with?  Sometimes I try to get some games started at work, but most people are not interested.  There have been a few games, though.  This was how my most recent one started.  Its representative of the level of play I face.

Still, it could be fun to start some sort of a work chess club.  Getting other shifts involved would be good, too, but probably impossible due to lack of overlap.

When I first started to show interest in chess I got 2 of my workmates to play with me.

I won against both, but not very convincingly since back then I think my playing strength was not that much higher, I suppose roundabout 900.

But after that I joined a chess-club and they know it so they don't want to play against me anymore because "You'd win anyways."

What's even sadder is that the same goes for my dad. We used to play every once in a while (before I actually was interested in chess). But now he won't play against me anymore. :(

In the late 1990s, I played chess at lunch with my boss. Maybe that's why he ran out of work for me to do. I always won.

We have 3 boards setup in the break room. It's correspondence style chess. Make a move whenever you have a few minutes. We shuttle angry bird stuffed animals back and forth to mark whose turn it is. The chess games are quite popular. Many people look over the games even if they don't play themselves.
