Good Question.  I know it helps to recall tactics knowing them by name - it puts a sort of hook in your brain from which you can recall the pattern easier, like knowing that diagonal Queen mate is called the Dovetail Mate and it's horizontal or vertical equivalent is called the Swallow's Tail Mate.

I think being able to visualize the colors of each square is related to seeing patterns in how the pieces move and in tactics.  Being able to visualize instantly the colors of the squares may help you visualize diagonals better. for example the Black QB is originally on c8: where does its diagonal hit the edge of the board on the h-file? Do you instantly visualize h3?  A Knight on d5 (white square) attacks eight squares of the opposite color - what are they?  e3, e7, c3, c7, f6, b6, f4, b4.  What squares are in the diagonal that includes d6 and e7?  All of this is related to recognizing patterns.

Yeah good question to ponder on. As for me, as I get improved if we know one square and its color then the rest of the square you will know them all. Like me, I know and won't ever forget the a1 is definitely has the color of dark, hahahahahahaha then if your knight is on a1 he will definitely jump into b3-White and c2-White. If my knight is in dark square then he will definitely would jump into white squares only, the same of a knight in white square he will jump into dark squares. It's naturally very helpful during games, it may help us active in terms of memory to where we really our strongest pieces hiding for s secret extensive attack. I don't really can't explain but it really helps me develop my strategies and plans. If we imagined that the board of chess has no colors on it?? What could happen while playing chess without the white squares and dark squares?? Hahahaha,..... Very funny.... So I have realized that the colors determines the way of every movements and controlled the games over the board. Lol thanks for the good question , indeed!
