My favorite cliches are the ones that everyone says but no one knows what it means. It's not a chess cliche, but I've always been perplexed by the phrase "doped to the gills."

you sometimes here from dem GM commentators on move 10ish "the ending here is better for white"

"Down the exchange"

"Blunder"

"Inaccuracy"

"Positional advantage"

"Position is lost"

"Resignable position"

"Theoretical position"

"Knights before bishops"

"Tactically vulnerable"

"Play for a win/draw"

"Out of theory"

"And White/Black can safely resign"

"Black at least equalises"

"Identify and list all candidate moves in your head", which is like a completely new foreign language for the club player.

my head only has space for one or two moves at the same time.
