I am moving to riverhead in Jan. Is that club getting any attendance? Maybe it needs rebuilding?

Pretty much all clubs start as a bunch of "woodpushers" getting together but the more successful clubs evolve into USCF affiliates that run rated tournaments from time to time. In my opinion, a balance of "open nights" and tournament play should beaimed at. Once you get a "feel" of the wishes of your membership, the balance of activity will be established. Once a club is established, offer to have guest lecturers, simultaneous exhibitions, consultation games and, if possible, getting into a league to play other clubs in the area.

If there will be a chess tournament somewhere in Nassau or/and Queens, please post it here. Let's play the tournament and know each other.

Maybe we can play chess at Cunningham Park this summer.

Thank you for the information. Can you post the link of Nassau chess club in floral park?

Avatar of chess2Knights

Not sure I have a link but just Google Nassau chess club in NY and you can join the web site. Also you can call Harold Stenzel he runs the club. Phone # I believe is on the site. If not I can get it for you but try Google first.
