Chess.com Integrity: Addressing Cheating and Fair Play Concerns

I'm disheartened by the increasing prevalence of cheating on Chess.com. It's disheartening to witness many players resorting to dishonest tactics, even among GMs, FMs or IMs. It's become apparent that some users manipulate moves to evade detection by the platform's AI engine, allowing 'em to play far above their actual skill level.

As someone deeply passionate about chess and its fair play, I've experienced immense frustration. Despite dedicated practice and a decade-long hiatus from the game, I struggle to surpass a Blitz rating of 1,400. Meanwhile, players with ratings below 2,000 perform at much higher levels, which raises serious concerns.

It's vital to acknowledge that Chess.com is a platform for learning and growth, not for demonstrating artificial prowess or masking psychological insecurities. The prevalence of cheating undermines this essence, leaving us to question the authenticity of victories.

I've reported numerous instances, but it seems that many have found ways to exploit the system. Chess.com needs to adopt more stringent measures to uphold fairness. One suggestion could be to require phone number verification during sign-up and impose stricter consequences, such as banning reported cheaters' numbers to prevent easy re-entry into the platform.

I genuinely care about fair play in chess and am disheartened by the platform's current state. If you're among those who cheat, understand that your actions not only affect the game but also your personal growth. Let's work together to uphold the integrity of the game and create a more honest and enjoyable community for everyone.

The site closed over 50,000 accounts last month for fair play violations.
