If you don’t want to, just don’t click the ads. Chess.com as a free and very large website needs some way to make money, there’s not just going to be a “turn ads off” button. And, if you feel attacked by chess.com suggesting that you could use training to get better, you probably shouldn’t be on the internet.

So you are basically defending the marketing war that is being forced against you. I wish i could just become a massochist like you and autodestroy my brain, i dont have that skill like u do

This thread is ridiculous.

That sure is a thing we, the people, don't need: whinny posters who complain about what they are too lazy to dodge.

absolutely true

emubehindyou

look,

I think it is annoying that they keep trying to make us think that we still need training but most of the time we do. We will never be perfect at chess. Yes it is annoying having to put so much money, time and effort into getting better but that is the same with all things.

I don't see how that is a problem: you don't want to train, don't train.

You feel attacked (?!?) by the statement that most players need training?

I don't use an adblocker, and I don't pay attention to commercials...

pretty sure all players need training

Well that is your uninformed opinion sir

An opinion that stands up to scrutiny if you don't want to take time to train don't. I don't like the idea of paying to get better at chess when we can just practice. If you want to get better for free then just click add tab, open YouTube and search up how to be good at chess.

I agree with you, but I do not have the feeling that they (chess.com) are pushing us -me, at least- to get better...

If using some tool makes you feel upset then just stop using this tool, try another tool and be happy

you couldn't dodge this either, so you decided to come here and just complain about my opinion

I can sense the arrogance of those standing up for a cause they don't really understand why

Kaeldorn

Sense all you want.

Chess.com and other commercial companies do what they do for a clear reason: the gain of money.

Lots of what they do is annoying, but:

1°) can easily be ignored

2°) provides us a free (and rather complete as such) website where we all can play chess against people from everywhere.

As for you, there is nothing such in the annoyance you're bringing to the forum.

1°) you have got nothing to gain beside ego flaterry, by posting your complaints about a rain that doesn't fall in your living room nor in your bedroom.

2°) you're not bringing anything good to anyone, if for free or else.

So, keep sensing the arrogance in others, and keep avoiding questioning yourself and your motivations. Keep believing you're actually doing anything with this thread, when you're doing actually just plain nothing.

You may try to argue it's the same for me, but no, that's not true: what i'm saying may help you out and help you redirect your time and energy toward better things. Just that alone do justify my postings in this thread, but more could be said about it.

I'll leave it at that. Take it or leave it, it's your problem after all.

Also this person is probably just playing on mobile, I only see lots of pop-ups on my mobile home screen. How does that make you feel untrained?

RE3_14

yeah well... I guess it's a mindset...

I feel like i made you feel really small with my response. It was not my intention tho; It was just a reminder to you that you put yourself in that position in your first comment here. Now crawling in agony and anger may be too late to fix that

Kaeldorn

You sense, you feel... Yeah sure, I'll enlist in your cult.

But basically, I'm now so very sure, as bits of evidences piled up way enough, that you are merely a wannabe troll. Ooops. That's a no life thing, is it not? Good luck with your endeavour, lol.

Kaeldorn

(Not sure why you're crawling in agony and anger tho).

Well, you have my permission to remember my name each time "chess.com intentionally tries to make you think you need training" to ease your suffering

Are you 100%sure you are not a troll ? You may be the troll here. I am just being honest

Kaeldorn

You're still on that counter attacking spree, being nasty and all, but wait, this time being honest at the same time.

Well, maybe someone, somewhere in the Universe will see it as an improvement of some sort...

Special mention to the "I'm shooting myself in the foot" misuse of the word "just". I mean, it's hard to misplace it more than you did. Next level is same with the word "simply". Then you may want to test the delicatessen "All I'm saying is".
