Just downloaded another program. So much better. Algorithm is spot on. No problems with time on bullet. Not come across any cheating. Don't care if I get kicked for saying this. Thank you for being crap chess.com, you have just provided the opportunity for me to find a better programme.

In before the block.

BTW, the iOS app for another site is crap and downloading games from their website leads to database corruption.

I play there, but chessdotcom is much better.

I only play online so for me spot on and plus I'm on android. I just feel that with chess.com it seems that on bullet which I mostly play due to time constraints that I have with work etc that the higher your ranking the more chance you have to win on time. I may be wrong but it's my opnion

Well of course the higher rated players have a better chance to win on time...

When playing a higher rated player your moves are harder to find so you naturally slow down.

Just the other day I watched Hikaru flag Andrew Tang @penguingm1 (a ludicrously fast hyper-bullet player, hyper-bullet is e.g. game in 30 seconds).

But when people play Hikaru suddenly they have to stop and think, because he's better than them, and they get behind on the clock.

stiggling. what I was getting at was the fact that my time decreased quicker even though I was making pre moves. It could be my connection or a number of other factors but I believe the algorithm used for time is flawed. Like I said it's just my opnion

You want to compare apps? I wouldn't go there if I was you. Chessdotcoms app is lacking in soooo many ways. Can't even play all the variants on it for a start. Ridiculous! For a paid service.

I think people can decide where to play without your opinion. If you like it better elsewhere, why are you here? Plenty of free features for people who don't have money for chess, but I  think overall the premium service is an inexpensive form of entertainment.

LorenzoSugarDaddy

I don't really think it's anything related to the algorithm. I never experience lag issues here, and I use pre moves a lot, not only in bullet matches.

MickinMD

So  are you claiming that no one cheats elsewhere or that they discover them all as soon as they cheat?

forked_again

Some people like other sites.  So what?  You should go enjoy yourself and quit wasting time on this site you don't like.

brianchesscake

I play both in chessdotcom and elsewhere and they are both great

Don’t trip over your mouse on your way out the door. Seeeya.

if u play on Android like me: another site for bullet and blitz, chesscom for rapid/daily. chesscom has better players overall and in my opinion better graphics, but the Android app has a lot of lag, putting u at an immediate disadvantage in bullet. The other site's app has no lag

Ziryab

If it’s better there, why are you here?

I recently downloaded over 5000 games that I played elsewhere. Options there are downloading one at a time through an awkward process or downloading every game you’ve played. After an hour of cleanup, the downloaded files were able to be added to my personal database without rendering part of it useless.

Every few days, or sometimes after a few months, I can download from Chessdotcom only the games I have not yet added to my database. The whole process takes a few minutes. Ten minutes if I have to go back far enough that I’m getting 800-1000 games. There is no need to alter these files, but rather they can be copied into my database immediately.

I realize this download issue only matters to those who study their own errors, usually with the aim of improving some aspect of their game. I realize this need puts me in a small minority.

For me, chessdotcom is much better, and the iOS app far more robust. When I want a ten minute game that doesn’t affect my blitz rating, then the other site is my choice.

I study my own errors with an aim of improving, and I don't need to waste time downloading files to do it.  Cloud storage on chess.com works fine.  Occasionally I download if I want to dive deeper than the so called deep analysis, but normally that's not necessary.

Do you really think you are in some small minority because you analyze your own games?

No. That part was sarcasm.

Even so, if the cloud gives you what you need, you're not doing the kind of study that I am.
