you are absolutely right i reported a cheater because he gained rating points winning against a second account with all games just lasting one move and chess com said they looked at it and didnt ban him while other chess site bans cheaters even on lower levels and you get your rating points back.much better.
Chess.com is infested with cheaters - so I quit
How can anyone be so sure that the other guy cheated. Just curious. Usually I play against people in the 1350 - 1550 range and sometimes they make very strong moves that beats me, but other people in the same rating range dont make moves of that strength. Does that mean the guys making the strong moves are cheating. I could never tell, and so I keep playing.
It's a psychological thing. I really enjoy chess and have met a lot of great people playing it, but there's definitely a minority who are attracted to the game because they think it will prove that they are some kind of unrecognised genius. They are of course totally convinced that they are geniuses before they start playing. But playing chess isn't like reading 'intellectual' books or listening to 'proper' music. Chess can actually throw up unpleasant evidence that you're not actually as smart as you think, if you blunder horribly and lose to a very low rated opponent. If you're lucky, you might have just enough maturity when it happens to rethink some of your assumptions about yourself and learn some modesty. But if not, convincing yourself your oppoent cheated gets you out of that and you can go back to believing that all your problems (and something tells me these people generally have a lot of problems) are because you're just too smart to fit in with society, or something. It's a bit sad really.

Your anecdote about how one time you thought someone was cheating and chess.com didn't just take your word for it has totally convinced me that they do nothing to stop this kind of thing. (/s)

(/s) i didnt think it dont you understand that when a player wins in one move all his games against other opponent its a secondary account so its clear not i think it.and chess com did nothing about it.

People that get angry with cheaters probably don't consider that in the long run cheating is totally boring and unrewarding. Not to mention the fact that you could just search for honest players and play often with them, play iperfast chess (like 3+0) where the possibilities of cheating are considerably less or, more simply, just enjoy chess without care about rankings. And if sometimes you lose with a cheater just take it as a loss with an engine.

gotta love the advice that play only shorter time control vs other threads play longer time controls...

I don't normally comment on cheating threads but,....... 2 hrs ago, this was posted in GCD. Chess.com doesn't have any cheaters, but the're all coming over from lichess.org. https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/what-does-this-mean-3

Its just a game of chess-if someone cheats-they have no honor and are not a true chess player-
so what-they are the ones being cheated out of the real enjoyment of the game.
In that end as I'm sure that experience is most unfulfilling.
Any fool can use a computer today to supplement their "play"turning it into a cheap charade-but is that really in the true spirit of the game-take it in stride and hold your head up knowing that you would not be so disrespectful to the art of the grand game. Winning and losing are both part of the play.
An honorable person wins every time hands down.

It's like complaining to God: "Why are there so many evil people in this world?" And then God replied: "I'm sick and tired of y'all. I don't care anymore. The great flood was enough." Jessie 3:16
That makes no sense since evil people are usually punished by society.

Indeed, for now there can't be a 100% reliable method to find online cheaters. And this is admitted by the staff of the site itself.

Politicians lie, cheat, and get elected - John 'Jigsaw' Kramer.
Evil people are rewarded by society, not punished. And it's not politicians only. Abusers, molesters, liars and thieves, even killers frequently get off Scot free. The innocent are the ones who hurt the most from this corrupt legal system, once they have a charge levelled at them, no doubt by some criminal trying to throw shade off of their own crimes against the accused, they do little to protect themselves and catch prison time, or probation if the court doesn't really believe the accuser, but that's not enough to get the charges dropped, as all the courts want is money or another conviction for the scorecard. And that's for white people. Blacks, Latinos...they get it even worse. Some could count a black or Latino man fortunate to simply survive until trial. This "society" is immoral, judgemental, greedy, prideful, and decietful, utterly unqualified to punish evil.
Don't be a sheep of "society", for their shepherds are all too often wolves.

Yep couple times that i entered arena tournaments and had paired with 1200 1400 rated players they cheated vs me and even vs others.

My suggestion is to play 3 minute or lower time control games only... there's no scope for cheating there.
They can use a script to cheat in even 30 second game. It's pretty common to use scripts, many banned accounts on Lichess only play bullet and hyperbullet.

Just play blitz then, you're taking a risk playing rated longer games. Another idea is to not take it so seriously and perhaps consider playing more on guest sites as you'll encounter less cheating.

If they cheated would they be such a low rating? More like you played like a man with no arms and lost and are annoyed get over it.
Pretty sure that OP's original thread was accusing an opponent (who had lost to OP multiple times) of using cheats to get 'revenge'.

@Ze0liTE - I thought as much. Sorry about being rude to you. One must treat 'slow' people with kindness and respect. I can only apologise.
