I totally agree with you, but if Russia is not isolated from the rest of the world in every field, their rulers and governors will feel that they can do everything they want at any time. A unique and brutal isolation of all the world is needed. If not, we are sending the message that they can do whatever they want. China will be next. Humble countries will be alone.
I have russian friends that agree with me, russia needs to be isolated for world's good shake

Chess.com is a commercial website and they can grant access to anyone they want. They're not responsible for bowing to political demands or even obligated to take an official position in current affairs. I don't like what's going on in the world, but banning all Russians and Belarusians from playing on the site serves absolutely zero practical purpose. If anything, it just makes division in the world worse. Let chess be the game that brings us back together.
Russia is killing children in the Ukraine. Until they stop the war stop the Russian people playing chess. Russian people must rise up and put pressure on Putin. They can only join in with the world when they stop the aggression

Chess.com should stop any russian player from playing from now on. This is not politics nor economy This is about inocent people being killed, children taken apart from their parents, this is about trying to stop an unjustified war, It is essential that russia and all his population understand that their acts will turn into consequences against them, in every and single aspect of their lifes. Other non political organisations (Olympic and sport organisations, even private interprise that are losing a lot of money with this decision) are already acting against them. Why chess.com should be different? Please do not ban this message. we need peace
