Chess.com or Lichess?

It isn't that interesting that's true but actually it's super annoying for the teachers to a good chunk of my teachers complain about how the school blocks stuff more than most schools blocking alot of stuff limits educational resources even if it limits some bad things sometimes it makes teaching more obnoxious it doesn't seem too bad but occasionally it's a pain if you want to let's say for example watch a movie and try to get these kids to analyze based off of what happened (honestly the kids can bypass it anyway some know how to code and other things )

All those options exist on chessdotcom. Moreover, with a larger pool, your seeks get taken faster.

I thought lichess was faster with pairings plus it's easier to reach the open challenge pool of its slow

I can't see a lobby on chess.com and everytime you want to play unrated you have to change the settings. Unrated is good because there is a lot less you know what.

At fast time controls, both sites are fast. At slow time controls, both sites have been slow enough for me to give up.

Both favor their presets.

In Arena, Lichess is ridiculously slow.

I had slow pairings on chess.com to specifically in smaller arena pools

I created Arena tournaments for my online students on Lichess. Most of the time six players were waiting for a game for five minutes or longer.

I mentioned the problem in the forums, received two or three off-subject responses, and then Lichess archived the thread as if my “question” had been answered.

Make no mistake, I like Lichess. I play there, refer others there for certain features, and donate money every month. But, there are things the site does poorly.

That makes sense super small arenas came be a bit painful but I've had arenas that pair pretty quick probably just depends some big arenas are super slow others aren't

chess.com has a lot of the pros and has created learning tools like aimchess and chessable

Some of you are saying you like Lichess more because you have higher ratings, but that means Lichess is inflating your rating and making you think you are better than you are. Another reason your rating is lower on chess.com could be you have tougher opponents on here. You would think thats a good thing, but you can't grow much without challenges. Also I find chess.com more kid-friendly while Lichess is just kind of bland. Also, if you think Lichess is better, why are you here?

I've wondered the same thing.

Though I received a very logical explanation: some players like playing/learning on Lichess more, but they enjoy chatting on the Chess.com forums more.

I don't think there are necessarily tougher opponents on chess.com than lichess. the two sites just have different rating algorithms. If you are a chess.com player and you start playing on lichess and get a rating 200 points higher, it doesnt mean you have improved. it just means the ratings algorithms are different. And as far as improving goes, the only thing that matters is that you find equilibrium with similar skilled players. whatever number rating is assigned there is irrelevant.

A player who cheated against me yesterday on chessdotcom was banned today.

It has been nearly ten years since any of the cheaters I’ve played on Lichess had their accounts closed.

There was someone I knew—not as an opponent, but as a participant in events I ran—whom I suspected. I reported this person several times to Lichess. No action. In a larger tournament I was running, I was forced to remove this player by the other TDs. The cheating was that obvious. Four days later, the kid confessed and apologized. Still on Lichess.

when I played a cheater, I analyzed or game, and he was moving all the engine's top moves, next day reported him. Few days later BANNED
