I heard that lichess has more things for free, so it is probably better. The prices here are over the roof.

$10 a month for Diamond. I give half that amount to Lichess just because nothing worthwhile is free.

I don't live in America, so it is a lot more expensive here.

They charge a higher rate for people from certain countries?

No, it is the fact we have to convert currencies into American dollars.

Chess.com is better for learning and fast chess,

Lichess is better for analyzing and steady chess

I like both but for variants, I prefer lichess because there are many more good players who play actively on lichess compared to Chess.com and also because you can do game reviews for variants on lichess

So, it is not more expensive.

Of course, income levels may be higher in the US than some places.

There was a time when a standard tournament set seemed like a luxury to me. Now I own at least 50 of them and spend close to $500 per year on chess memberships and subscriptions.

Lichess is a bit better than Chess.com for beginners but Chess.com is better for stronger players honestly. But chess.com is better in the long run.

Pho_Lover

I don’t know how to explain this but chess.com to lichens is like comparing e4 to d4

Shining_starlight2012

I like both

Chessdotcom was down again, so I played a few games over at Lichess.
While there, I took a look at the forums. Turns out there is one comparing the two sites. It has sixteen posts and was archived.

No screenshots can be posted in their forums either.

Are there as many cheats on lychess , and if you pay for premium on here do you have to play less cheats . like as it is its probably about 2\3 games im playing here are computers , and the site does nothing about it cheat@chess,con /

I played a blitz tournament at lichess for those whose rattings were <1700. My over the board blitz ratting is over 1700. So I played in an hour blitz tournament and with 5 minutes to play and had a 2 point lead over a field of 300+ participants. All I had to do was to win my last game to win. Lichess paired me up with a guy who was ratted at 1450. So I thought my chances of winning were good. I lost. My opponent was able to win a pawn with a brilliant combination, and I wasn't able to stop it from queening. I conducted an analysis of the game and stockfish gave me a 91% accuracy; it listed me with no blunders or mistakes and only one inaccuracy. My opponent was 98% accurate with no blunders, mistakes or inaccuracies.

So my opponent either cheated or had the game of his life.

from so many Iranians saying chess.com is a little better than lichess I also agree and say chess.com is a little better

Atharvaisagoodplayer

In lichess your ratings are higher compared to chess.com because they autommatically start your rating at 1500 or something. I say the chess.com rating system is better

linorder

I suck on both of them anyways

It's not an either or. The best players in the world play on both sites. What I like about lichess is that they are always offering tournaments for players rated <1700, and you can pre move. Chess.com offers pre moves only for premium players.

whiteknight1968

Lichess is superior because it has the classical category for players who prefer slower time controls. There are less than 20,000 players in this pool.

Chess.com makes no distinction and has over 20 million in its rapid pool.

Thats why you can be in the top 5% here but struggling to get into the top 25% there.

My second account is not premium. I make premoves with it all the time.

Not sure what the criterion is for getting pre moves, but I don't meet it. Many of my opponents do and it's a big advantage ib bullet and blitz games.

But lichess is free, you don't have to pay for no ads.

Rookierockrobthebank

I think Chess.com is way better.
