How long someone has been on a site is irrelevant. It is what one learns and applies during play which counts. A rating is earned through matches, of each players knowledge, ability to apply that knowledge.. Time has nothing to do with it directly. Yes, since the person joined much earlier, then that person had the opportunity to learn more, Having the opportunity, and taking advantage of it are two different things.

No aborting? It's probably because you have been aborting too many matches is a reason why you can't abort it.

If you abort too often, as a percentage of recently completed games, you lose the ability to abort.
