Chess Computers are idiots!

Put the following position into a chess computer:

Ask it what white should do next.

Apparently, no matter how far ahead it looks, it will never see that the position is obviously drawn. In fact, it will often never even give an evalulation of 0.0. "Offer a Draw" is apparently not in computer repetoire.

My Shredder hilariously evaluates 0.01. Pretty close to correct value.

What if Black's last move was ...a7-a5? Tongue Out

No computers don't offer draws or resign they play to mate or until they are shut down.

I don't see the problem.

I had even more fun with Stockfish (ver 3). I filled up White's light squares with light-squared bishops, and the eval was 0.0. However, if you remove one of the bishops, Stockfish returns an eval of about +40.
