Also, why did voyboy's account disappear?

@voyboygenius

This fake one with an L seems to have been made proactively

@Voyboy

Hmm, I guess a name change. Thanks.

I think it's a bit stupid that they let Rainn Wilson play without knowing his strength, just that he was a "chess enthusiast". It seems clear that he is much stronger than the other players, and some say he intentionally threw to give his opponent  a chance

llama47

I noticed he "subtly" put an analog chess clock in his background.

I'm guessing Danny or other pogchamp organizers had a general idea. I don't think they'd let him play if he were overwhelmingly good. The Office was great, but modern celebrities are CGI females who make low key lewd comments on stream and basically do nothing else of value. IOW I don't think they'd make a special exception for him.

Just guessing.

I see that I have revived this long dead thread.

llama47

The OP was me.

I was going revive it for saying chess.com actually did a good job this time with the link I gave in #42.

Elbow_Jobertski

"Some say"

Yeah, there are also those that think the world is flat and that lizard people secretly rule the world.

Now you admit Sir-Foxy is you lol

llama47

What do you mean "now"

As if I ever denied it.

Just guessing.

The man hung his queen in two straight games so "overwhelmingly good" kinda seems a stretch. I mean, absent some weird conspiracy theory where he decided to start hanging pieces in the second game to... well.... that is sort of where it hits a wall.

What do you think is Wilson's chess strength? I can't tell just based off the few matches against a beginner with about a month of practice and his one game against Carlsen.

llama47

Yeah, exactly.

I think he's among the most experienced pogchamp players of any season, but he's still at a comparable level of play.

Yeah. I can't tell from his games so far either.

As for guessing ratings, Gotham's new videos where he guesses ratings is amazing. I didn't know an IM could be so accurate (a large rating gap make it hard and he's guessing stuff like 800). Maybe because he coaches so many noobs.

I just wanna know who  @Sir-foxy is. He isn't addressing anyone who say he's llama

No offense, but I don't even remember you. Why would I care whether you think I'm llama?

How do you not remember that llama knows @Steven-ODonoghue

llama47

I didn't know him at the time. He's relatively new, but he's absorbed the culture here about as fast as he gained rating points:  amazingly quickly.

PleasantEscalator

Oh ok

Steven-ODonoghue

I didn't even know who Llama was at the time LOL, I was peer pressured from Colby into writing that. He enjoyed sending PMs telling me what to do
