Bump.
Chess Engine for a Dummy

Thank you for the links, but I have no idea what to do. I seem to have managed to install Arena, it seems to be working, but now I'm completely lost. I'm intelligent but for whatever reason, computers make no sense to me at all. I don't see any guides anywhere and IDK how to install Stockfish.

Thank you for the links, but I have no idea what to do. I seem to have managed to install Arena, it seems to be working, but now I'm completely lost. I'm very intelligent but for whatever reason, computers make no sense to me at all. I don't see any guides anywhere and IDK how to install Stockfish.
There are a handful of engines preinstalled in Arena, so if you don't have to have Stockfish, you're ready to go.
There should be a Help file up in the menu somewhere. That might help. Or, another approach would be to just have fun...Click on menu items just to see what happens..."What's this button do?" *Click*..."Oh, that's what the button does." What's the worst thing that can happen? You have to uninstall and reinstall Arena?
Hi, I would like to download/install a chess engine (and any other software required to use it) in the easiest possible manner. I would also like some easy to follow instructions on how to use the basic functions, such as having it analyse games that I played here on chess.com here without me having to manually input every move.
I have never used a chess engine. I am not fantastic with computers. Consider my knowledge on every topic to be non existent and you won't be far from the truth. This is something that has always puzzled me. I don't mind spending a little money, but the less the better. I am far more interested in this being a smooth and simple process (installing and using), than the engine being top of the line. My computer is a piece of junk anyway.
Can anybody provide me with some simple step by step instructions on how to do this? Thank you very much.
