Which is the most "fun" chess engine, if a beginer (1300) was looking for a program to both play against on the pc and also analyse their games afterwards?  If pressed, emphasis is on how helpful a chess program is analysing games.

To date, i am only familiar with chessmaster.

for the fun-factor and unless you're an expert I'd say go with chessmaster. It has these different opponent types and gives nice comments in the analysis.

As far as a "fun factor" is concerned, the "engines" are all the same.

What you want to know is which GUI (graphical user interface) is the most fun.

I don't own the latest version of Chessmaster, but from what I've read, that program is best for beginners.  Also, Chess King might be what you're looking for.

hakim2005

yeah try chess king

EternalChess

Chessmaster.

Is what you are asking for is one of those "dinosaur" chess programs where the pieces are dinosaurs of different colors and captures are made by one dinosaur eating the other?
