What are your thoughts on chess engines? Which ones are the most efficient for you? I currently use Houdini which I hear is the strongest today? Of course, there are others like Fritz 11, Shredder and Rybka.

I could not care less if my engine is 3600 or 3800. I use Fritz 12 for database and I had chessmaster GM edition that is great learning tool.

I had GNUchess for a long time, and later upgraded to chessmaster 5000.  They both worked great until computers became too new.
