my question from a fair play perspective:

''did I breach the fair play code , or not?''

thaskaiser

all I am doing now is waiting untill the 50 move rule.

(my opponent is not aware of this as he said he will go on for another 1000 moves)

No ; the aim of chess is not to lose , the bragger has an ego problem _ do not be fooled by this FOOL , He is guilty of breach of fair play , i hope he is a higher rating ; you will then gain points for intelligent playing . Good luck .

No code broken, as afr as I can tell. You didn't intentionaly puff cigarette smoke into his eyes, didn't you?

Your opponent is probably mad at himself even if he is no aware of it.

froghollow

Just checked , you are 77 points ahead/rating . he gains on a draw / he must have a kangaroo - loose in the paddock ;;

Not.

Take the draw by 50 move rule (or repetition of position, if applicable), unless he blunders and allows you to gain a winning advantage.

I concur with my eminent colleagues: you did not engage in unfair play, and weren't even close. You turned a bad situation around by superior play which just shows how wrong your opponent's taunts were. I don't get the taunts which, in my experience, are made by immature, angry persons.

I don't care about the rating as I blundered in this game,

I am happy about the way I blocked the board

btw : is this 50move rule , 50 moves each?

ganesh_boss

i think the fifty move rule is this : The fifty-move rule in chess states that a player can claim a draw if no capture has been made and no pawn has been moved in the last fifty consecutive moves (fifty moves by each side). The intended reason for the rule is so that a player with no chance to win cannot be obstinate and play on indefinitely  or seek a win purely due to an opponent's fatigue. All of the basic checkmates can be accomplished in well under fifty moves.

 Yes each

tnx guys

we at 35 so another 15 to go

good side of this nonsense: I am breaking my personal record of longest game Wink

Does chess.com recognize the 50 move rule? I had not heard of it before, but am relieved to learn that there is such a thing. I wondered what would stop some games from going on indefinitely.

This website is top notch so I'd be shocked if it didn't.

Remmember you need to claim a draw, once the conditions are met for a draw the Offer draw button changes to Claim draw.
