Yep, Kirk and Libby it is!

Yes, a fine actor and actress.  For fun watch Olivia de Havilland in The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) or any film in which she co-starred with Errol Flynn.  For one of her finest rolls I suggest The Heiress (1948), directed by the incomparable William Wyler.  She won the best actress Academy Award, which doesn't always mean a lot; in this case it was deserved.  The Heiress is based on the novel Washington Square by Henry James.

There are so many great films Kirk Douglas made, but both Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory (1957) and Spartacus (1960) stand out.  I also love the film in which Douglas made his acting debut, the noir classic The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946).  A special treat is Lizabeth Scott's husky yet vulnerable voice.

Yep, I'm an oldtimer and proud of it.

I sometimes feel sad for people who don't like Roger Miller! ("King of the Road," "Spiders and Snakes," "Dang Me," "England Swings," etc.)

But I really try not to spend huge amounts of time feeling sad for those poor people, because, really, what's the point of dwelling on negative things? .... Am I right?

P.S.  Also: "You Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd (But You Can Be Happy, If You've a Mind To)"

And I am sad for those who do not like Metallica!

and I am sad for those that do.

and I am sad that I'm not The Magic Flute, but I have hopes of being reincarnated as that freak and becoming famous on pornhub.

I like Roger Miller, Sandra.  Did you ever see the musical Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn?  Roger Miller composed the music and lyrics, and it won the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1985.  Here is just one of the outstanding songs from the musical, You Oughta Be Here With Me.

An interesting thought from Writer Ann Morrow Lindbergh " It isn't for the moment you are stuck that you need courage, but for the long uphill climb back to sanity and faith and security ".

Interestingly, the opening is almost as famous as the finale (used for scenes of flowers blooming and such in cartoons).

---   Good point, I had not thought about that. I also like the second part of the Overture ---   the " Storm ". That is one time where the players in the orchestra get to just make as much noise as they want   lol.

A funny song that comes to mind is the old " They'r  a'gonna  put me in the Movies " which was a big hit for Buck Owens ( & also recorded by Ringo Starr ). There is a line in there about " big fools ", kinda funny stuff.
