Hi everyone,

I have been working on improving my chess and one area I really want to focus on is endgame tactics. I have already watched several videos and read articles on the topic but I still don’t feel like I’m making significant improvement in this part of the game.

I’d really appreciate any advice that helped you improve your own endgame skills

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Hello

Yeah watching videos and articles is great for openings and general ideas but honestly endgames are a bit different. Videos can help you understand concepts but the real improvement comes from practising actual endgame scenarios yourself. I would recommend hovering over the Learn section and you will see a dedicated Endgame section with lots of exercises you can try. Doing this repeatedly will really help you get comfortable with different endgame positions and take your skills to the next level.

Hello There! It seems like you are stuck in endgames which can generally draw confusions amongst beginners or chess players. Endgames usually feature king and queen type checkmates or rook king ones. I'd recommend you master those with the help of youtube videos or random practice through the "learn" section. Otherwise an endgame starts when both sides lose their most valuable pieces and it usually begins when a pawn chain is broken around the 45-50th move mark, however it can vary depending on elo levels. Hope this helped you, and I'd be down to help you more if you want, Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I have noticed that I often rely too much on my opponents making mistakes to win games. I want to learn how to create my own winning chances and build stronger positions instead of waiting for them to slip up.

Does anyone have tips in order for me to improve in this aspect of the game?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Shame on you. The chess.com is in bad hands, very bad hands. 1. To play with alternate pisces is an unwritten law. 2. You breach it and breach shamelessly. May be there is no option of having white pieces after playing with black pieces, at least you must give him option to withdraw. But you also deprive a player of his legitimate right. Because if someone chooses not to play with black pieces two times, in the third attempt he is forced to resign and lose points or play with black pieces unwillingly. Why ? I have been facing this problem for quite a long time and have been raising this question many a time. But everything seems to be falling on deaf ears and dumb brains. You are ruining the spirit of the players who play chess on chess.com to enjoy and contribute in a small way to help it grow. If you can't do anything else, simply continue the option of the player as a right to reject black pieces for as long as possible . Because this is the right of the player to play with alternate colour pieces. You can not deprive him of his legitimate right. Or, he should have the liberty to reject black pieces for infinite times. Hope you take necessary action immediately. With rage and pain a2S3.
