Hey guys!
I'm playing on chess.com and I've got a rapid rating of around 900, but my tactics puzzles rating is 1500, which makes me believe I have more potential. So I wanted to ask you what to do for the next step of improvement.

Thank you in advance.

Realize that the puzzles rating is not a real Elo rating., where you are matched against other players.

Don't read too much into the puzzles rating. It doesn't map well to match rating. I get the feeling that players don't really plateau on puzzles rating.

The rating really only shows if you are getting better at puzzles. Which is a good thing as you do start using those tactics in games. Take your time and keep going.

It is important to remember,, that  while doing a puzzle you already know there is a move or series of good moves that will win material or the game.

The tough part is finding those moves when you are actually playing someone.

General ideas:

Play no less than 10 minute games.

don't play too many games  on the same day.

review those games ,on the same day you played them, if possible.

Pick one opening, and learn it for 4-5 moves for each player, then learn one more.

Look at your previous games- are you winning more with white than black, or is it the other way around?

Perhaps you are stronger at a defensive style or is offense the way for you to win.?

Good luck!

My numbers are similar, and I trust the game rating a lot more than the puzzle rating because the game rating is verified every day in real life games. If I was really a 1400 as my puzzle rating suggests, I would be beating the 1000 players easily......and I'm NOT.
