I just randomly poo my pants.  I can't help it, but it seems to distract my opponents.

I clicked my piece and dragged it really fast, then mashed down on the submit move button... but it didn't seem to phase my opponent at all!

Man... I'm just lousy at this intimidation stuff.

Same here. Tried out-staring the monitor, and now my opthamologist says I'll need stronger glasses.

I lose really quickly and then my opponent is stuck sitting around waiting for the next round!

I don't get it, I was nodding my head and smirking through the whole game I just played on chess.com and I lost....

That is my OTB tournament strategy.

The important thing is to play smart and make good moves

I think I'd rather play normal chess rather than employ these silly antics.

It's supposed to be humorus and not taken seriously. What a self aggrandizing statement. You're so much better than the rabble.

ElvisFord

I thought Wall's article was funny as hell, and btw, he states the same thing about strong moves being the ultimate annoyance. Of course strong play is the decider, man, this is so serious.

ElvisFord

Ah, yes. Yes, I just read the entire thread and quite understand you. lol I can just see two opponents wearing mirrored glasses trying to stare each other down with a naked woman standing behind each.

dengtungwang

I stand behind them and start to pelvic thrust. I think it's more disturbing than intimidating but it still achieves the same effect :D

Here is good example of intimidation :

Playing duplicate bridge, it was always lovely to move to a table where the opponents were arguing the last hand.

For chess, I don't care. Three piece suit, gym gear, or leather: I don't care. I *especially* don't care when I can't see you on chess.com. :-)

sisu

Let's make it happen!
